Coffee & Muffin Ride
Sunday 4th November saw the first of our monthly Coffee & Muffin Rides taking place in Port Elizabeth. These rides are designed to get all cyclists, "cycling wannabe's", their families, friends and all outdoor enthusiasts together for an enjoyable morning of social cycling around the scenic countryside surrounding Port Elizabeth and will become a regular event taking place on the first Sunday of every month.
Three groups of cycling enthusiasts enjoyed an early start to the morning as they set off on one of the 3 routes on offer. With near perfect weather conditions and the thought of a steaming cup of coffee and a delicious muffin waiting at the Elephant Walk Country Village restaurant, they were soon pedalling along on their merry way!

An enjoyable ride and great time was had by all who joined us, saying they're sure to be back again next month. Some will be tackling the more challenging route next time, while others decided they were maybe a little too adventurous and should start a little more slowly. With three route options to choose from, there is just the right one for you!

School Holidays - Keep your kids busy & active
"Mom, I'm bored". These are the most terrifying words in the English language, apart from "Please be patient, Your call will be answered shortly." The school holidays are upon us. The thought of weeks with children hanging around the house looking for something to do, requires parents to be very resourceful in order to keep their children occupied and themselves sane. Merely dropping off children at the nearest shopping centre is a copout, and frankly rather irresponsible. Unless there is a supervised programme or a particular movie the children want to see, hanging around a shopping centre aimlessly is not a healthy way to pass the time for children.
Keep your children active! Children who engage in regular physical activity are better able to focus on their academic work. Physically active children demonstrate increased alertness and attention spans, which can lead to improved academic performance. If you can't be active with your children, enjoying family walks or bike rides, why not find out more about how Leisure Cycle Tours and Adventures can help. We'd only be too glad to help you get your children and their friends active, taking them on a fully supervised cycling holiday. Follow the link to one of our favorite family tours, the Sunshine Coast Siesta tour or contact us to design a tour to suit you, your region and your budget.

Biking Boo-Boo's - Border Crossing
A cyclist was stopped by a customs official at a border post. "What's in the bags?", asked the officer, pointing to his bicycle panniers. "Sand," said the cyclist. "Let me take a look", said the officer. The Cyclist did as he was told, emptied the bags, and proving they contained nothing but sand, refilled the bags, and continued across the border.
A week later, the same thing happened, and continued every week for a year, until one day the cyclist with the sand bags failed to appear. A few months later the customs officer saw the cyclist living it up downtown. "You sure had us foxed", he said. "We knew you were smuggling something across the border. I won't say a word - but what was it you were smuggling"?
The cyclist smiled and answered, "Bicycles!"
